Our Mission

The mission of ETC is to provide leadership and a forum for information exchange to the providers of media content, academic technology, and support for quality teaching and learning at institutions of higher education. To learn more about ETC's mission, click here.

The Benefits of Membership

ETC primarily offers membership to any institution of higher education with support units for media, instruction, presentation, or information technologies as well as firms and corporations whose business is in support of the purposes and objectives of ETC. Retiree and student memberships are also available. 

Members receive a variety of networking opportunities to connect with other professionals in their field, including access to member pricing at yearly conferences and a members-only listserv. Exploring AI in Higher Education: A Moderated Discussion with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Women in Technology Interest Groups

Artificial Intelligence is embedded into more and more devices and enterprise applications each day. However, the reality is that AI produces biased responses reflective of human biases in society thereby perpetuating these biases further. Additionally, as instructors adjust lesson plans to leverage these AI tools, how far should they go? Are these tools available equitably to students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds? The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Women in Technology Interest Groups will host a moderated discussion on March 14th at 1 pm ET to dive into the impact of Artificial Intelligence on diverse communities.

 Accessibility in Higher Education: Digital Accessibility

We often envision digital accessibility through the lens of our personal devices going online. In addition to web presence, in this session we’ll discuss access challenges for livestreamed and archival content, and digital signage. We will also explore tools and resources to implement in order to make navigating these types of materials engaging and interactive for any user. Join us on April 4th at 1 pm ET.
