"Proper Image Sizing and Viewability – Using Standards to Select Displays"

In this 8-hour class, attendees will look at what factors go into selecting the right display for their viewing task. Using the new DISCAS standard and the PISCAR standard, attendees will explore all the variables that make up good viewability and learn how image size and contrast complement each other, and learn how utilizing the standards will help attendees pick the best display for the job. After determining the correct solution through calculations, attendees will have an in-depth, hands-on lab to analyze the solution and develop a process for future display environment evaluations.

"4K Cabling Truths and Misconceptions for HDBaseT"

In a standards-based world, conflicting information about proper 4K cabling infrastructure leads to confusion and frustration. The HDBaseT signal has unique characteristics that are amplified with the increased bandwidth requirements of 4K. Using recent testing data from the Belden labs, attendees will learn the most important characteristics in four pair cable used to support 4K HDBaseT and the idiosyncrasies of the conflicting messages in the market.

In this workshop, we will discuss:

1. What is HDBaseT?
2. HDBaseT Signal Characteristics
3. Selecting the Right Cable & Development of 2183
4. Selecting the Right Connector & Development of REVConnect
5. Best Practices for Cable Installation
6. Termination Instructions
7. Testing Equipment and Process
8. HDBaseT Certification Program

"Creating an Enterprise AV Architecture for Higher Education"

This workshop will provide you the framework to develop an architectural plan for your organization by taking systematic approach to design and resources from a strategic level. First this workshop will start with designing at the room level based on functional requirements. Then it will advance up to groups of like systems to begin to full enterprise architecture with tactical methodology for optimizing your technology selection to benefit your students and faculty for consistent performance, experience and reliability. To complete the strategic, picture we will example ways to track replacement cycles as well as create staffing metrics against the architecture.
