Women in Technology Breakfast

About this session:

Attendees will be invited to participate to join in a discussion over breakfast that focuses on challenges faced by women today in the media and information technology industry. The format will be a moderated discussion led by CCUMC members Kathleen Dooley and Katie Kassof with a goal of benchmarking success strategies for managing diversity challenges.

About the presenter:

Kathleen Dooley, Midwestern University

Kathleen started with Midwestern University in 1992 after achieving a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Southern Illinois University. As the Director of Media Resources, she is responsible on the Downers Grove, IL and Glendale, AZ campuses for media technology and creative services including: audio visual design, audio visual project management, technology installations, live event technologies, creative support services, and acts as a consultant for all media related purchases or projects for the University.

Katie Kassof, American University

Katie Kassof is the Instructional Technologist and Learning Space Designer at American University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, a Master of Fine Arts degree in Film and Electronic Media, and a Graduate Certificate in Curriculum and Instruction focusing on academic technology. She has worked at American University in a variety of roles in support of academic technology since 2006. Currently she is focusing on classroom improvement and technology standardization and advocating for new learning technology resources. Outside of work, Katie is learning to play the peal bells at the National Cathedral, loves to read and hike, and bakes great cookies!
