2015 Conference - Keynote Jack Bogut - The FIDO Principle
Share |

About this session:

A number of years ago, Jack Bogut was featured on ABC's Good Morning America and in USA Today as one of the top five morning radio personalities in the nation. His skills as a speaker and storyteller keep him busy entertaining all over the country. In fact, many of Jack's characters and stories about growing up in Montana have been incorporated into his first book: Big Sky Cafe-(and other schools I have attended). An audio CD of some of the stories in the book will be released this year. He has also completed the manuscript for his second book of short stories entitled:” Never Rescue a Maiden Who Owns a Dragon Ranch!”

Over the years Jack has been very active in the community affairs of Pittsburgh. He has served on the Advisory Board of the International Poetry Forum, the Advisory Board of The Make-a-Wish Foundation, is a former Director of St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Eye and Ear Hospital, The Eye and Ear Institute, The Civic Light Opera Association, and was one of the local founders of the now national, Family House.

Jack Bogut was named Pittsburgh's outstanding Radio Personality four times by his peers in the American Federation of Television and Radio Announcers. He has won The Pittsburgh Man of The Year Award in Communications from Vectors, Citizen of the Year from the Pennsylvania chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, similar awards from many regional community organizations and the national Evergreen Award for public service.

Recently, he was given both the “Outstanding Achievement Award” for radio by the Pittsburgh Radio & Television Club, the Ronald Macdonald “MAC” Award for his work with children through The Make-A-Wish Foundation and Children’s Hospital, The Bob Prince Memorial Award for community service, and The Lifetime Achievement in Broadcasting Award by his fellow broadcasters and the March of Dimes.

His hobbies include tearing around racetracks in his vintage Porsche, chasing grandchildren, and fly-fishing – not necessarily in that order.
