Copyright Office Study...

Loyal readers may recall that many moons ago I wrote about a symposium at the Library of Congress sponsored by the United States Copyright Office called “Examining Moral Rights in the United States.” As I noted at the time, moral rights have never been very common in the United States, and thus were unlikely to be of much interest to CCUMC members. That may be about to change, though: as per the recommendations of the last Register of Copyrights and at the request of the House Judiciary Committee, the Copyright Office is undertaking a public study of moral rights, with emphasis on the rights of attribution and integrity. Here’s a link to the official notice of inquiry, and here’s a link to the page on the Copyright Office’s website which contains instructions for submitting comments. All comments must be received before midnight Eastern on Thursday, March 9, 2017.
