AV Installation Technician

Location: University of Kansas, IT Classroom Technologies

Position summary:

      • The AV Installation Technician provides AV install and repair support for KU Classroom spaces on KU’s Lawrence campus. The position is a part of KU IT’s Classroom Technologies team, which is part of KU IT’s Academic Technology unit. This position reports to the Classroom Technologies Manager. The position will prioritize time towards design, installation, maintenance, and repair of university spaces. The position has a considerable amount of latitude in performing assignments and the AV Installation Technician will use their judgment in selecting the materials and method to be used to complete the work assignment. Choices are limited by Kansas University policies and procedures, industry standards and safety guidelines. The position will be able to complete work independently, while staying in regular contact with KU IT’s Classroom Technologies Manager for priorities and updates.

Minimum Qualifications: 

      • High School Diploma/ GED and four years of relevant professional experience or an Associate's degree and two years of relevant professional experience or a Bachelor's degree.
      • Two years demonstrated experience A/V or broadcast media system design, installation and maintenance, or comparable experience. Effective written communication skills, as demonstrated in application materials..
