CCUMC Recognition Awards

CCUMC is soliciting nominations for the 2011 Recognition Awards. The purpose of the awards are to further the mission of CCUMC: to provide leadership and a forum for information exchange to the providers of media content, academic technology and support for quality teaching and learning institutions of higher education.

Innovation Award   

The recipient of the Innovation Award will be recognized for his or her leadership in a project or initiative that advances the recipient's role at the institution/corporation or for a project that advances the institution/corporation.

Collaboration Award   

 Recipient of the Collaboration Award will be recognized for his or her leadership resulting in a project or initiative that demonstrates the value of synergy and the contribution to their respective institution or corporation of collaborative efforts between two or more departments or with colleagues at other institutions or corporations.

Application for 2011 Recognition Awards

The Consortium of College and University Media Centers (CCUMC) is comprised of over 780 members within 300 organizations which provide media and technology support in institutions of higher education and corporate members from media related businesses.

Eligibility 

  • All CCUMC member designees (of higher education institutions and of corporations) are eligible.  Associate and student members are also eligible.
      
Procedures
  • Nominations may be submitted electronically from anyone who is employed by a CCUMC member institution or corporation.
  • Members of CCUMC may self-nominate.
  • Nominations must state the category of the award intended (Innovation or Collaboration).
       Awards
  • Selection of the award recipient(s) will be made on the basis of how well the project or initiative focuses on needs or opportunities related to the production, selection, collection development, information retrieval, utilization, distribution, or management of instructional media, equipment or technology. Preference will be given to nominees who demonstrate consistent commitment to CCUMC. Selection of the awards recipient(s) will be made by the Awards Committee and approved by the CCUMC Board of Directors.
  • Each winner will receive a certificate signed by the CCUMC President.
  • The winners will be highlighted in an upcoming Leader.

Recipient(s) will be notified by September 16, 2011.

Submission Format:

Must include one-to-two pages describing the program or initiative, the nominee's role and the impact of the nominee's effort.

Online Applications must be received by September 1, 2011.
