STATEMENT OF INTEREST: I was honored to be nominated for the President of the Board of Directors. I have seen the great work that previous board members have done, and it is my hope to continue to contribute towards the organization's success. I have been fortunate to get actively involved with the conferences, interest groups, and Professional Development Committee. The organization is growing and evolving. I have a strong interest in continuing the efforts towards making it a vital resource for professional development opportunities, networking opportunities, and educational opportunities accessible to the CCUMC community.

Treasurer - Don Merritt, University of Central Florida

Don Merritt is the Director of the Office of Instructional Resources (OIR) at the University of Central Florida. OIR maintains a staff of certified Crestron programmers and CTS-certified installers to design, install and support hundreds of integrated multimedia rooms across all of UCF's campuses. In addition, OIR provides end-user support for collaboration and Panopto lecture capture systems for UCF. OIR is also home to UCF's Faculty Multimedia Center, a multimedia production facility dedicated to empowering faculty in the use of digital technologies.

Don holds a PhD in Texts and Technology from UCF where he studies virtual environments, games and accessibility in addition to his OIR responsibilities. Don’s background includes several years in broadcasting radio and television and several years teaching. He has also been involved in a number of international theatre projects that used telepresence to combine actors and audiences across North America in real time, and has contributed to Emmy-nominated productions and internationally-screened documentary work.

STATEMENT OF INTEREST: I am very interested in the CCUMC Treasurer position because I believe strongly in the mission and direction of CCUMC and want to do all I can to help keep it strong. I have many years of direct budgetary experience in my current position at UCF and I feel that is a strength I can leverage for CCUMC. I also believe that my experience with a variety of vendors and institutions will be beneficial to the needs of the Treasurer role.

On a more personal level, I’m really, really excited about CCUMC. Every year I’ve attended I leave more energized and with fantastic connections to great people at schools all across the country who understand what we do, why we do it, and the challenges we face. I’ve been encouraging the other schools in Florida to start to become involved as well, since many of the conversations we’re having within the state are happening in so many other places. As AV professionals I feel that CCUMC is a strong (and growing stronger!) voice for our needs and concerns, and I very much want to do all I can to help it succeed.
