Matthew Silverman, George Mason University

Matthew Silverman is the Manager for Learning Space Design at George Mason University. He assists with the design of AV and IT systems for learning spaces and coordinates construction activities related to learning spaces. Additionally, he is responsible for collecting and maintaining data required for strategic planning related to technology upgrades to learning spaces.

Matt holds CTS and PMP certifications.  He is a member of InfoComm’s Performance Standards Steering Committee and InfoComm’s Technology Managers Council.  He is active with the Virginia Classroom Technology Managers Group.  Matt also serves on the Board of Directors for the Crestron Owners Group.

Tim Schnabel, Extron Electronics

Tim Schnabel presently serves as the Director of Education Programs at Extron Electronics in Anaheim, California and has been with the company since 2002.  In his present capacity, he is responsible for the leadership of Extron’s Education Vertical Market Team and Programs created to support the colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada.  Tim has over 20 years of working within the technology industry involved with large system projects in the corporate and education marketplace. 

He has been active and professionally affiliated with education technology organizations such as Educause, DET/CHE, CoSN, N.C. Classroom Summit and CCUMC where he served as a Corporate Board Member from 2004-2008.  His team at Extron interacts daily with college and university technology management staff for the purpose of supporting, designing, engaging utilization as well as training users on professional audio visual systems products that Extron designs and produces.


Jeff Donahue, Retired (Moderator)

Jeff Donahue was the Director of the Educational Communications Center at Binghamton University for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2010.  He is a past president of CCUMC and is now a life member currently serving on the Professional Development Committee.  Jeff is very active in his Unitarian Universalist congregation, was elected to serve on the New York district's board of trustees and a national committee.  He additionally volunteers at his local public radio/TV station and the Red Cross in Binghamton, New York.
