Jacob Larsen, Iowa State University

Jacob E. Larsen is an Emerging Technology Specialist with the Iowa State University (ISU) Information Technology Services where he manages the emerging technology support efforts. This includes leading faculty support efforts and assistance for all IT Services Academic Technologies including software assistance and pedagogical support. He is also the primary communications agent for the Community of Educational Technology Support (ComETS) organization at ISU. Larsen’s current focus is on faculty engagement strategies, wireless content streaming, and audience response systems (clickers). In addition to his experience as a college-level instructor Larsen has extensive experience with faculty pedagogical and technical support and blended and online learning.

Sean McLaughlin, Otterbein University

Sean is the Director of Institutional Research at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. Sean has been conducting survey research since he was a kid! In high school he wrote a column in the school newspaper where he surveyed students regarding various ‘controversial’ topics and published the results in each edition. Since that time he has had a 22 year career in education and higher education; starting as a middle school science teacher and moving to work in higher education as an administrator in student affairs and, most recently, institutional research. Data collection and survey work has been a central aspect of his career in higher education. Sean holds a B.S.Ed., Secondary Education from Duquesne University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Higher Education Student Affairs Administration from The Ohio State University. His dissertation, a survey research project, earned him the 2012 William Loadman Dissertation Award from The Ohio State University College of Education and Human Ecology, Education Policy and Leadership section.

Willie Franklin, Otterbein University - Moderator

Willie currently serves as a Senior Technology Specialist in the Information and Technology Services Department at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. He has served as the Former Director of the Instructional Support Services Department at Otterbein University. He's also the sole proprietor of Franklin Electronics Repair and Franklin DJ Services. He holds degrees from DeVry University and Otterbein University.
