An archived version of the CopyTalk webinar about Harvard University’s Copyright First Responders is now available on the American Library Association’s Office for Information Technology Policy’s website here. CCUMC members who are wondering how they can better handle medium to large volumes of copyright questions will definitely want to check it out! It’s a great program, and one that seems like it would be applicable to a wide range of contexts.
In other news, the Library Copyright Alliance recently published the comments they submitted in response to the Copyright Office’s notice of inquiry (NOI) on moral rights, which I wrote about here. Their opinion is pretty much the same as mine: moral rights are great, and attribution is an important value in academia, but it’s unclear that creating additional legal protections in this area would do more good than harm.
