CCUMC is currently experiencing issues with the LISTSERV, hosted by the University of Florida. We are aware of the issue and the University of Florida IT (UFIT) is currently addressing it (see below). These problems are intermittent and vary based on the remote service provider's policies and practices. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Why is this happening?
A number of compromised GatorLink accounts have been used to relay spam via UF's campus SMTP service. This has resulted in damage to UF's email reputation with a number of remote providers; resulting in messages being rejected by those providers.
What's UFIT doing?
UFIT takes the following steps when in this situation:
• Work to identify and disable the compromised accounts
• Work to identify and stop the spam that's being submitted through our servers
• Submit requests to be removed from blacklists with major mail providers
When will this be resolved?
Unfortunately, whether or not to accept mail from our servers is up to the various external email providers. Each has different policies for such things, and different timelines for de-listing our mail systems.
UFIT will continue working to resolve this issue ASAP.
